FAQs

Got questions? You’re in the right place! Here’s everything families usually want to know when they’re thinking about joining Parkside Community Childcare.

About Parkside Community

  • Great question! A community-based childcare centre is a not-for-profit service run by local families, for local families. We’re guided by a volunteer committee, and everything we do is centred on creating a caring and inclusive space that supports our wonderful community.

  • Yes! Being a not-for-profit organisation means that all our resources are reinvested in making our centre even better – from enhancing programs to supporting our amazing educators – so that your child has the best experience possible.

  • Many families say Parkside feels like a second home. Our close-knit, family-focused vibe and familiar, caring educators mean your child will be surrounded by people who truly know and care about them.

  • We’re nestled right here in Parkside. Our childcare is located at 110 Young St, SA 5063, South Australia, just a quick drive from the Adelaide CBD. We’re proud to welcome families from Parkside and nearby suburbs like Unley and Goodwood.

  • We love caring for children from 3 months to 5 years old, with special spaces just for babies, toddlers, and kindy kids. Plus, we offer Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) for the older kids too!

  • We believe the best learning happens through play! Following the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), we encourage kids to explore, create, and discover — all supported by passionate educators and fun indoor and outdoor spaces.

  • Yes – and we think they’re pretty tasty! We prepare fresh, healthy meals right here at the centre, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. We’re happy to cater for allergies and special dietary needs too.

  • We’re here Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, for 50 weeks each year. We take a little break over Christmas and New Year, plus on public holidays.

Our Programs & Daily Life

  • It’s easy! Just fill out our enquiry form or book a tour online, and one of our friendly team members will get in touch to help you every step of the way.

  • Absolutely! We’d love to welcome you. Book a tour to see our learning spaces, meet our educators, and ask any questions you have — no pressure, just a warm hello.

  • Costs can vary depending on the centre and how many days your child attends. At Parkside, we keep our fees clear and fair. For all the details, have a read of our blog post on childcare fees.
